Israel & The Nations - Egypt
Egypt's peace agreement with Israel is touted
to be the role model for all other Arab-Israeli agreements. Without firing a
shot, Egypt received the huge Sinai Peninsular in which Israel had invested
$10 billion building flourishing cities, military and naval installations,
as well as developing oil fields that would have made it energy independent
for the foreseeable future.

Peace? In return for what it gave Egypt, Israel
received from Egypt a "peace treaty" a piece of paper covering some 50 items
relating to "normal relations between states." Since that piece of paper was
signed, Egypt has failed to "to implement any of those agreements-except for
those that could be actively violated." The entire agreement, according to
Egyptian president Hosni Mubarak, "will fall away the minute another war
breaks out between Israel and an Arab country." Mubarak has vowed "to
support any Arab state in a war against Israel."
After being at "peace" with Israel for more
than two decades, every night at the close of it's broadcast Egyptian
television screens footage of the zenith of Egyptian military might-the
opening hours of it's treacherous 1973 invasion of Israel on Yom Kippor.
It should be remembered that Egypt was the initiator of the major
Arab-Israeli wars-the 1948 war of independence, the 1967 Six Day War, and
the 1973 Yom Kippor War. Egypt today is modernizing it's army, introducing
Western military doctrine and integrating massive amounts of western
equipment. United States financial aid and the United States consent to sell
Egypt top-of-the-line weapons systems, has transformed the Egyptian military
from a predominantly Soviet war machine. Egypt's foreign minister Amr Moussa
acknowledges that Egypt's goal "is to achieve military with Israel." Israeli
Air Force General (retired) Avihu Bi-Nun wrote:
" ....the Egyptians are receiving from the Americans every weapons system
Israel receives...Worse, sometimes Israel refrains from requesting a
certain weapons system lest the Arabs be supplied with it...All the U.S
talk about 'maintaining Israel's qualitative strength' is nonsense..."
Egyptian Prime Minister Atef Ebeid has
announced that the country is ready to wage
war with Israel if other Arab states provide $100 billion for war
expenses. This was his answer to the question of journalists of whether or
not Egypt would take actions against Israel.
The prime minister was also asked why Egypt still keeps diplomatic
relations with Israel. The answer was, "I say that we need $100 billion.
Let the Arab world give $100 billion of the Arab funds available around
the world, and give the money to Egypt for war."

"O my soul, my soul!
I am pained in my very heart!
My heart makes a noise in me;
I cannot hold my peace,
Because you have heard, O my soul,
The sound of the trumpet,
The alarm of war."
Jeremiah 4:19
"About the time of the end, a body of men will be raised up, who will turn their attention to the prophecies, in the midst of much clamor and opposition."
Sir Isaac Newton
