Israel & The Nations - Iran

Iran was not a founding member of the exclusive Muslim club of potentially dangerous threats to Israel's existence. Iran is not an Arab nation. Iran is ancient Persia. It has its own language and culture, and the only thing it has in common with Arab nations is Islam. Since its acceptance into the hate Israel club after the overthrow of the Shah in 1979, it has progressively worked its way up to a senior position.

Since the Islamic revolution in which the Shah was overthrown, Iran has never attempted to keep its hatred of Israel as secret. A succession of fanatical Iranian Muslim leaders have all declared identical policies toward Israel. Iran's position with regard to Israel is twofold:

There would be no recognition of-and no negotiations with Israel

There can be no solution to the Middle East conflict without the dissolution of the state of Israel and the declaration of a Palestinian state.

The Iran Threat

In an effort to help achieve the dissolution of the Jewish state, Iran funds, backs, trains and equips several fanatical Muslim militias to carry out attacks against the IDF and Israeli civilians. Besides the Hizb'allah militia and has caused Israel so many causalities in Lebanon, Iran also funds the Islamic Jihad and Hamas terror organizations that have been responsible for hundreds of Israeli civilian deaths and thousands of injuries. Yassar Arafat revealed to the Lebanese newspaper, Al-Shara'a, in September 1999, that Iran had recently given Islamic Jihad and Hamas a further US$35 million for fighting Israel.

There can be no solution to the Middle East conflict without the dissolution of the state of Israel and the declaration of a Palestinian state.

Reports from Iran can be conflicting: Iran has nuclear weapons; Iran is near to producing nuclear weapons. Perhaps we should reverse these reports and arrive at a point nearer the truth: Iran has the materials. and is very near or has already managed to produce its own nuclear weapons. Whatever stage Iran has arrived at in its quest for nuclear weapons, it spells serious trouble for Israel. A senior Israeli official said:

"Iran should know-and will know-that on the day it fires all it has at us, even if it all hits, Israel will still have the ability to wipe Iran off the face off the earth-quickly, forcefully and in the most inelegant manner."
